Lawyer and state legislator, of Vergennes, Vt.; grew up in Waltham, Vt.; son of Hanna and Hiram Fisher; m. Mary Jane Ripley, half sister of poet and writer Julia Ripley Dorr. In July 1864 the Fishers sailed for London where Cyrus was to be representative of the Emma Mine Company of Utah, presumably to market their securities in Europe.
